Your website needs to be hosted on a server that has a permanent, fast connection to the internet and is located in a protected environment to ensure it can continue to run 24/7 without interruption.
As part of website development projects I also offer website hosting (and domain registration) as part of a complete package. Hosting packages start at £60 per year. These are flexible, fully managed services. Everything is set up and configured for you - no technical knowledge is required.
Advantages of W3 Hosting
Benefits with all hosting packages that you would not normally find elsewhere include:
No technical knowledge is required. Everything is set up for you. It just works. You do still have full control and access to the configuration settings (cPanel) yourself if required.
Hosting maintenance. Any additional features such as new email accounts, parked domains, etc. can be setup for you at a later date at no additional cost, providing you are within the limits of your hosting package.
Website maintenance. Included is ½ hour of website maintenance per month (worth £20). This allows for any minor updates to your website at no additional cost.
Hosting support. Any support requests regarding your hosting are handled for you. I constantly monitor the state of your hosting account and any interruptions to the service are alerted and followed up.
Bandwidth flexibility. The amount of bandwidth (ie. the amount of data that can be transferred from your website in any given month, which is dependent on the size of your website and the number of visitors) is limited and defined by the web hosting package. However, if this is exceeded in any one month then I'll temporarily increase the bandwidth, at no additional cost, to ensure a continued service. If, however, the allotted bandwidth is exceeded on two consecutive months then we can look at increasing the bandwidth on a permanent basis.
Hosting Packages
I have three defined hosting packages, bronze, silver and gold that form a base for most sites. However, website hosting is entirely variable and eCommerce solutions in particular are likely to have far greater requirements. So the hosting accounts can be entirely tailored to meet your needs.

Note that I do not normally offer stand-alone hosting packages. All hosting is provided as part of an initial development project.
* Whilst the number of email accounts (ie. "physical" mailboxes) are limited per package (as stated above), all packages have an unlimited number of email forwarders. An "email forwarder", as the name suggests, simply forwards all email from one email address to another. So, for example, you could have accounts@your-domain.com
that forwards to jim@your-domain.com
and/or jim@gmail.com
. Email forwarders also allow you to forward email to multiple email addresses if you wish. Some customers choose not to use "physical" mailboxes at all and simply forward all their email to an existing webmail service such as Gmail or Hotmail/Outlook.com. The webmail service can then be (optionally) configured to send email via your accounts domain if you wish. To the end user this is then entirely seamless (the email comes from your domain's email address) and avoids any storage restrictions associated with your hosting package. This does require some configuration. Full instructions are given on sign up.
